Notting Hill is in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC). It is one of London’s safest neighbourhoods and located in the heart of Central London. It is a cosmopolitan district known as the location for the annual Notting Hill Carnival, the setting for the 1999 film Notting Hill starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, and for being home to the Portobello Road Market. It is home to many wealthy professionals and celebrities like Jeremy Paxman, Damon Albarn, Joseph Fiennes, Claudia Schiffer, Elle McPherson, Clare Danes and Van Morrison.

The Notting Hill Carnival is the largest street festival in Europe and originated in 1964 as a way for Afro-Caribbean communities to celebrate their own cultures and traditions.Taking place every August Bank Holiday weekend in the streets of London W11, the Notting Hill Carnival is an amazing array of sounds, colourful sights and social solidarity.

Notting Hill is a 1999 romantic comedy film set in Notting Hill, London, released on 21 May 1999. The film became the highest grossing British film released. The film won a BAFTA, and was nominated in two other categories. Notting Hill won other awards, including a British Comedy Award and a Brit Award for the soundtrack. Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) is the world's most famous movie star. William Thacker (Hugh grant) owns a travel bookstore in the quaint neighborhood of Notting Hill. When their paths cross, the couple comes to face the ultimate question: can two people fall in love with the whole world watching?

Portobello Road goes straight through the heart of Notting Hill. On Saturdays it is home to Portobello Road Market, one of the most famous street markets in the world, known for its second-hand clothes and antiques.
